Back to reality

Originally posted on MySpace on April 25, 2007.

After a tedious 10-hour plus drive yesterday from Salt Lake City, I'm finally back in my home state of Washington. It's kind of hard believe that it's over. I was getting used to life on the road, which is exactly what those involved in the current Five For Fighting tour are experiencing right now. My daily routine was paralleling theirs in some ways...traveling all day, having quick bites to eat, checking into a motel, unloading my stuff, attending the concert, sleeping, loading everything back up, and starting all over again the next day. But, for them, it's much harder because there's a lot more at stake. The Five For Fighting crew and the band go above and beyond when it comes to putting on a great show for us, and its much appreciated.

As for myself, my groupie experience was tremendously rewarding. Nothing beats watching John perform live...there's no comparison. Not only the music, but the addition of John's stories and the charismatic way that he tells them. I've witnessed people who have never been to a Five For Fighting concert afterwards feeling just overwhelmed by John's performance...and can't wait to see him again! I had the good fortune of meeting people who were there for the shows, but ended up connecting with them in our shared love for John and his music. And, to me, that's what it's all about...communicating with others in our common beliefs, namely supporting and spreading the word about Five For Fighting.

On a more personal note, I can't thank John enough for going out of his way to make the past week so special for me. He is truly a remarkable person, and there aren't a lot like him around, doing what he does. The same goes for his fellow band mates, his stage crew and even the bus driver, who put up with me hanging around...what a great bunch of guys! And, I can't forget to thank John's wife Carla, who kindly took the photo that made my trip.

So, now, the tour continues on...Kansas City tomorrow. If any of you are still undecided about attending a Five For Fighting show on this current tour, might I make a suggestion...GO! You won't regret it. John will put on a show you'll never forget. One may ask, didn't I get tired of watching basically the same show five times in a row? No way! John is just that good. You don't believe me? You know what to do...
